“Women have progressed in many areas but they are yet to enjoy their rights fully. In order to bring that change, men must change their outlook,” he said.
The president was addressing a programme organised to commemorate the golden jubilee of Lalmatia Mohila College in Dhaka on Monday.
“I believe that through combined efforts of men and women we can turn Bangladesh into a developed nation and fulfil Bangabandhu's dream of golden Bengal,” said President Hamid.

He highlighted how women are boldly progressing both at home and abroad.
“They have successfully made their marks in politics, economy, policymaking, business, culture, and sports,” he added.
“Our prime minister, speaker, leader of the opposition do not reflect on women empowerment only, rather they are leading the country with their talent, poise and courage.”
He underscored women’s bold participation in challenging professions like law, administration, police, and defence.

President Abdul Hamid detailed the different initiatives taken by the current government for the betterment of women.
The programme honoured five current and former students of the college for their outstanding contributions in different sectors.
