A section of candidates who passed the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service exams has demanded that authorities begin the recruitment process swiftly.

They said the recruitment process has yet to begin, even after two and a half months since the publication of the final results, leaving them in a state of uncertainty.

On Monday, they formed a human chain outside the Public Service Commission (PSC) office in Dhaka’s Agargaon.

Md Faruq Khan, a successful candidate recommended for the education cadre in the 44th BCS exams, said: “After three years and seven months of publishing the notification in November 2021, the final results were published on Jun 30 this year.

“However, the subsequent procedures, including the publication of the gazette, have not yet started.

“Meanwhile, the recruitment process has advanced with the publication of the 48th special BCS results.

“Despite the secretary committee’s approval, the PSC has yet to forward the recommended candidates’ documents to the public administration ministry.”

The candidates in the human chain presented three demands:

Clearly explain the reasons for the “illogical” suspension of the documents of candidates who completed the 44th BCS

Send the documents approved in the meeting of the secretarial committee to the Ministry of Public Administration as soon as possible

Announce the date of the re-results of the 44th BCS immediately.

According to the official roadmap, the results were scheduled for publication on Jun 30, but the final results were delayed due to the re-evaluation process.
