Malaysia has deported another 26 Bangladeshi nationals from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, citing vague travel intent and failure to meet entry requirements.
According to Malaysia’s Border Control and Protection Agency (AKSEM), the passengers were stopped by the monitoring unit after landing on two Dhaka-bound return flights on Tuesday morning.
The Malaysian state news agency Bernama reported that the group was flagged based on prior intelligence and observed for suspicious movement. They were taken to the airport’s operations office for questioning.
An official AKSEM statement said the travellers gave “vague” reasons for their trips and submitted “inconsistent”documents.
Authorities suspect the attempt to enter Malaysia using two separate flights was pre-planned and possibly involved third-party assistance.
AKSEM chief Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the group violated multiple clauses under Section 8(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. Under Malaysian law, foreigners who do not meet entry criteria are denied access without compromise.
Bernama added that Malaysia views tourists attempting to work or overstay using visit visas as high-risk arrivals.
Earlier this month, Malaysian authorities deported 96 Bangladeshis on Jul 11, 123 on Jul 24, and 80 on Jul 25 over similar allegations of improper documentation and unclear travel purpose.
