As many as 135,665 candidates are going to sit for the MBBS admission tests under government medical colleges across Bangladesh.
The tests will take place from 10am to 11am on Friday.
Rubina Yasmin, additional director general at the Directorate General of Medical Education, or DGME, said the exams will be held at the 53 venues under 19 centres including Dhaka.
The health ministry has given the candidates some instructions in a notification ahead of the tests.
Only the exam admit card and a black ballpoint pen will be allowed inside the exam centres. Other items such as pens, watches, calculators, and electronic devices are prohibited. The centres will open at 8am and close by 9:30am, as per the notification.
Candidates are advised to leave home early to ensure they reach the exam venues on time.
Of the 19 test centres for the 2024-25 MBBS session, four are located in Dhaka, with exams being conducted across 16 venues in the city.
Due to potential traffic congestion near the venues, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, or DMP, has recommended that citizens avoid specific areas to ensure timely arrival.
The admission test centres will include Dhaka University's Arts Building, business faculty and social science faculty, Udayan Higher Secondary School, Engineering University School and College, Begum Badrunnesa Government College, Dhaka Medical College, Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, Siddheshwari Girls College, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka Residential Model College, Mohammadpur Government Model School and College, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Government Girls' High School, Eden Mohila College, Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College, a public notice issued by the DMP said on Thursday.
There are 5,380 seats available across 38 government medical colleges, with an additional 6,293 seats in 67 private medical colleges in Bangladesh.
However, Narayanganj Medical College has not yet begun its academic activities.
