Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat have inspected Shahjalal International Airport to review overall preparations for this year’s Hajj flights.
The ministry said the top officials visited the terminal on Thursday night to assess the readiness of services for pilgrims.
During the inspection, authorities briefed the ministers on the logistical framework for flight schedules and traveller assistance.
Minister Afroza urged everyone involved to support pilgrims with sincerity and responsibility, placing particular importance on the overall management and cleanliness of the Hajj camp.
State Minister Millat described ensuring “a smooth, safe, and disciplined journey for Hajj travellers as a sacred duty”.
He instructed officials to maintain the highest levels of vigilance and professionalism throughout the management process.
Civil Aviation Secretary Fahmida Akhtar and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq were also present alongside senior ministry staff.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to officially inaugurate the first Hajj flight at 11:35pm on Friday.
Following the ceremony, the inaugural flight is expected to depart for Saudi Arabia at 12:20am on Saturday with 419 Muslim devotees on board.
A total of 14 flights are scheduled for the day, with Biman Bangladesh Airlines operating six, while Saudia and Flynas will run four flights each.
