A Dhaka court framed the charges on Sunday against Rahmani and nine others in the case, which had been filed two years ago.
The trial process had been stalled as cases under this Act needs home ministry's clearance.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Kamrul Hossain has fixed Jan 4 to hear the witnesses' testimonies.
Suspects Jasimuddin Rahmani, Saiful Islam alias Prince and Md Abu Hanif were brought to court from prison for the hearing. Suspect Ali Azad was also present.
The remaining suspects, Md Jihadur Rahman, Kazi Rezwan, Kazi Naimul Hassan, ‘Junnun’, Aminul Islam and Abdullah al-Abdullah alias Pias, are currently absconding.
Prime suspect Rahmani is now serving a five-year prison term for involvement in the 2013 murder of blogger Ahmed Razib haider.
In 2013, police filed the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act accusing Rahmani of inciting terrorism through his sermons.
In September next year, police pressed charges against 10 persons.
The documents claimed the suspects were plotting against Bangladesh’s sovereignty and attempting to tarnish the image of the government.
The trial was stalled as the home ministry’s clearance was needed. On Nov 8 this year, the court took the police chargesheet into cognisance.
The chargesheet details suspicious financial transactions involving Rahmani.
It said Rahmani transacted Tk 24.8 million from different branches of the Al Arafah Islami Bank across the country.
Investigators say they believe they were used to finance militant activities.
