Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed the hope that if a “safe Bangladesh” can be established, “everyone will be well”.
The prime minister expressed the hope while exchanging greetings with senior police officers after a programme at his office in Tejgaon on Monday.
He said, “You have expressed your hopes for a beautiful future for your wives and children.”
“If we can ensure a safe Bangladesh together, then everyone’s future is secured. If Bangladesh is safe, we will all be well.”
After the programme, the prime minister exchanged greetings and made statements in between the greetings
Press Secretary Saleh Shibli said the primier told police officers that Bangladesh belongs to everyone and must be protected collectively, with the aim of building a secure future for all citizens.
“We may not all share the same ideology,” the prime minister said, “but when you work with the government, you must ensure that differing views are not reflected in official work.”
‘‘I say openly -I do not think that we all believe in the same ideology, we can have different opinions, even in our political beliefs. The result of everyone's different opinions will be reflected only at the ballot box, not in government activities. But before that, we will all love this country. We will all be united in the interests of the country.”
Earlier in the morning, Tarique addressed police officers at an event organised on the occasion of Police Week 2026 at Shapla Hall in the Prime Minister's Office in Dhaka’s Tejgaon in the capital.
He gave instructions on maintaining peace and public order across the country.
Afterwards, the prime minister participated in a photo session with police officers in front of the Tiger Gate of the office.
