AIUB team engages in digital manufacturing training at Birmingham

A delegation from American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) has participated in a training on Digital Manufacturing at Birmingham City University (BCU), UK, under the British Council’s Transnational Education (TNE) Exploratory Grant.

The delegation included Prof Md Saniat Rahman Zishan, director of the Faculty of Engineering; Associate Prof Chowdhury Akram Hossain, head of the Department of COE; and Mahamudul Hassan, assistant professor of the Department of IPE, a media statement said on Saturday.

During the visit, delegates explored BCU’s mission and facilities, including STEAMhouse and its Creative Lab, featuring advanced 3D printing and CNC machining technologies, it added.

The event offered keynote lectures, technical sessions, research discussions, and facility tours led by BCU academics Prof Javaid Butt, Dr Ashikul Khan, Dr Muhammad Adnan, and other experts.

Sessions covered digital manufacturing, thermal management, composites in construction, digital transformation, Industry 4.0 to 6.0, additive manufacturing, laser marking, inspection systems, and renewable energy applications, the statement read.

The event concluded with a ceremony hosted by the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Birmingham, reaffirming the shared commitment of AIUB and BCU to strengthen future academic, research, and industrial collaborations.
