The Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue has frozen all bank accounts of Faisal Karim Masud and his IT firm in connection with the shooting of Inqilab Moncho Convenor Sharif Osman bin Hadi.
A senior CIC official confirmed the move on Sunday morning, saying the accounts were frozen as part of the ongoing investigation into the attack.
Masud is a member of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services and the owner of Apple Soft IT Limited.
Hadi was shot in front of the Bijoynagar water tank in Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
Police said he was travelling in a moving rickshaw when an assailant on a motorcycle opened fire.
The bullet struck Hadi in the head, leaving him critically injured.
He was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery, before being shifted to Evercare Hospital. A medical board at Evercare said his condition remains “critical”.

Within hours of police releasing an official photograph of the suspect on Saturday, Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner, said investigators were hopeful of making an arrest soon.
“We are searching, searching for the main suspect. It has not been 24 hours yet. Hopefully we will be able to find him,” he said, seeking public cooperation.
Soon after the statement, Home Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced a reward of Tk 5 million for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
Meanwhile, the Rapid Action Battalion has handed over a man to police on suspicion that he owns the motorcycle used in the attack.
The suspect, Abdul Hannan, was handed over to Paltan Police Station on Sunday morning, said Harun Ur Rashid.
He told bdnews24.com that RAB-2 had identified Hannan as the owner of the motorcycle from which the shots were fired.
