Dr. Nawab Ali memorial postal stamp released

The cover of a new postal stamp was opened Sunday in honour of late Dr. Nawab Ali, a pioneer in the advancement of medical profession in Bangladesh and an eminent physician of undivided India.

Dhaka, Dec 4 (BDNEWS) – The cover of a new postal stamp was opened Sunday in honour of late Dr. Nawab Ali, a pioneer in the advancement of medical profession in Bangladesh and an eminent physician of undivided India.
Asif Ali, the Comptroller and Auditor General as well as the son of Dr. Nawab Ali opened the cover of the stamp while Postal Department sponsored the occasion, a press release said.
Dr. Nawab Ali had a chequered career (1902 – 1977). He was the founder of diarrhoea hospital under the ICDDRB at Matlab, also the founder president of former Chandpur Sub-Division Association and Surgeon General of the then East Pakistan Legislative Assembly.
Mahmud Hassan Mansur, the Post and Telecommunications Secretary was present at the ceremony along with the deceased's relatives, admirers and senior officials.
Prof. Moniruddin Ahmed, Prof. K A Khaleque and others thanked the government for honouring Dr. Nawab Ali.
