The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has hosted a lively three-day Earth Day celebration, uniting students, faculty, and both local and international specialists through a range of interactive sessions and activities.

The event took place from Apr 20 to Apr 22, 2026, during which two notable seminars were held on Apr 21, aimed at encouraging sustainability and inspiring action towards an environmentally responsible future, a university statement said, with the sessions focusing on key global and national themes.

The first, “Preparing for Global Careers in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” was presented by Zheng Li, associate professor at East China Normal University, and centred on preparing students with the skills needed for an AI-driven international workforce.

The second, “Government Guarantee: Catalyst for the Success of Investment and Financing Renewable Power Projects in Bangladesh,” was delivered by Han Kun, country head of PowerChina Bangladesh and president of the Chinese Enterprise Association in Bangladesh, highlighting the importance of policy backing and financial structures in boosting renewable energy projects in Bangladesh.

According to the statement, ULAB Vice-Chancellor Prof Shamsad Mortuza underscored the institution’s dedication to promoting global dialogue and equipping students to tackle urgent environmental and technological issues.

The celebration also echoed the essence of Earth Day, observed each year on Apr 22, reinforcing ULAB’s position as a hub for knowledge sharing, innovation, and sustainable initiatives.
