Dhaka, July 24 (bdnews24.com) - Sharmin Akhter Ratna has set a new national record in 10-metre air rifle (women) on the second day of the National Shooting Competition.
The gold medal holder in SA Games from Ansar, Ratna, scored 500.3 to grab the gold medal at the Gulshan Shooting Club on Sunday.
Tripti Dutta from Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) scored 497.6 to win the silver while Sharmin Akhter of Rajarbag Rifle Club won the bronze medal.
Furthermore, Toufiq Shahriar Chandan from Kushtia Rifle Club scored 687.3 in 50-metre rifle prone event (men) to grab the gold medal.
In the same event, Ramjan Ali from Army Shooting Association won the silver medal scoring 686.4 and Golam Shafiuddin Khan from Gulshan Shooting Club grabbed the bronze scoring 678.0.
In the 25-metre pistol event (women), Antora Islam from BKSP won the gold scoring 531 while Miti Dewan and Sinthia Najnin Tumpa from Dhaka Rifle Club won respectively silver and bronze, scoring 530 and 504.
Shooters will compete in 10-metre air pistol (women), 50-metre rifle three position (women) and 25-metre pistol (men) events on Monday.
