She was speaking at a mass rally of the 20-Party Alliance in Jamalpur Zilla School ground on Saturday.
The BNP chief, who heads the coalition, mentioned several killings that took place during the Awami League regime and held its leaders responsible for those acts.
“This Awami League has been killing and making people disappear. It is a party of killers and hijackers,” she told the crowd of supporters.
Reiterating her demand for abolition of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the elite unit formed to combat terrorism, she said their guns were now being used for political gains.
The Awami League, which returned to power through the Jan 5 national poll, which her party boycotted, has formed an ‘illegal’ government, she said.
Speaking at the rally--her fourth since the election-- she demanded early polls under a ‘neutral’ body.
Supporters from various Upazilas had gathered at the rally premise when Khaleda took the stage after arriving at 4pm. They welcomed her joyously with loud applause.
Khaleda spent the night at Tangail’s Jamuna resort after arriving there from Dhaka on Friday. Her motorcade started off from there and reached Jamalpur Circuit House for lunch at around 3pm.
Khaleda held public meetings at Rajbarhi onMar 1, Munshiganj on May 28 and on Brahmanbaria on Sept 23.
