Ruling party MP Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim told Parliament on Sunday that the BNP chief had gone over to him to complain.
“Narendra Modi asked her three questions. He asked why she cancelled her meeting with India’s President Pranab Mukherjee and who was enforcing a shutdown that day?”
“She said the shutdown was called by the alliance she leads.
Selim cited media reports over the Khaleda-Modi meeting where the BNP chief reportedly complained that there was “no democracy” in Bangladesh.
“India supports democracy in Bangladesh,” he said. “[It] is determined to root out fundamentalism and terrorism.
“A hint is enough for the intelligent.”
