At least 5,000 posters and seven documentaries on his life and politics have been sent to all missions ahead of the day, the foreign ministry’s director of external publicity Nripendra Chandra Debnath told bdnews24.com.
He said all flags would be at half-mast and missions would hold discussions and messages of the President, Prime Minister and foreign minister would be read out by the ambassadors on the day.
Bangabandhu was killed along with the members of his family except two daughters – Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana - on Aug 15, 1975.
Hasina is the President of his party Awami League and current Prime Minister.
The director said posters on “15 August National Mourning Day” would be displayed at the missions and the documentaries would be screened.
The foreign ministry will also observe the day by placing floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondhi—32 where the father of the nation was assassinated.
A discussion will also be held at the ministry followed by a special prayer.
