Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate SM Masud Zaman issued the warrant on Sunday.
The police asked for the warrant in the explosives case filed over the bombing of Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan’s procession in Gulshan on Feb 16.
The issuance of the warrant was kept under wraps.
Dhaka police's Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Anisur Rahman confirmed bdnews24.com of the matter.
Khaleda has been living in her office for nearly two months since calling for continuous countrywide blockades from Jan 5.
Nearly 50 people including several leaders and activists, security personnel, and office staff members are staying with the former prime minister.
Last week, Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court issued an arrest warrant for Khaleda in the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust corruption cases.
Several worker organisations have marched toward the office since the start of blockade in a bid to press the BNP chief to withdraw the violent programme crippling the country.
On Feb 16, at least 11 people were injured when handmade bombs were detonated at a protest march led by minister Khan towards the office.
A case was filed later that day accusing 14 BNP leaders including Khaleda, over the attack, attempt to murder, terrorism and bomb explosions.
Police have kept the office surrounded since Jan 3 when they barred the BNP chief from leaving her office.
Although, the barricade was lifted several days later, Khaleda continued to stay there. She even bade farewell to her son Arafat Rahman Coco, who died in Malaysia, from her office.
Police started controlling access to the office again from Feb 11. Power lines were cut once, and internet and telephone connections were allegedly snapped for sometime.
They are also not allowing food to be supplied from outside and only allowing family members to visit and bring food for her.
