In a televised address on Monday, CEC Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad hoped the 10th national election will be free and fair and held under a neutral supervision.
The CEC said he had requested the political parties to hold a dialogue to reach an agreement.
A five-strong Election Commission team met President Md Abdul Hamid on Nov 19 and asked for his initiative to end the impasse.
“We have been waiting for a political agreement until now,” he said. “[But now] we don’t have any time to delay.”
