The Rapid Action Battalion or RAB arrested Fuad Bin Sultan or the self-proclaimed “Sultan of Sex” in Dhaka’s Uttara on Tuesday. He was the first to start porn production in Bangladesh, according to details given by RAB.

The 33-year-old is infamous for his polygamous practices through which he has managed to set up a thriving porn business in Bangladesh.

He started two porn sites in 2015 that contained pictures, contact numbers and rates of women willing to sell sex. He also arranged ‘safe’ compartments for young men to have sex.

For the prohibited practices, Sultan used two apartments in a six-storey building left by his father -- former additional DIG of police Sultan Ahmed who died about 10 years ago.

Fuad Bin Sultan live-streamed sexual acts on Facebook by hiding his face in masks of superheroes which were seen by thousands including minors, said RAB.

He had associates working under him to run the porn business, said RAB-1 chief Kashim Bin Sarwar.

A massive quantity of pirated CDs, laptops and methamphetamine-based Yaba tablets were found on the scene during an overnight raid on Tuesday.

RAB later handed Sultan to police after arrest.

Quoting him, RAB officer Sarwar said Sultan had his first sexual experience with a sex-worker in an upscale hotel in Dhaka when he was 17. That catapulted him into ‘insatiable and perverse’ sexual acts, he said.

Sultan has worked in the management sections of some five-star hotels in Bangladesh.

“I always wanted to be in a profession that would bring me company of numerous women and loads of money,” RAB quoted Sultan as saying.

Sultan lived with his wife, five children and mother on the top floor of the Uttara building. He used to give Tk 45,000 a month to his mother from the money that he earns from porn, said Sarwar.

The man dreamt of featuring himself as the ‘porn hero’ in a self-scripted film, he said. Pornography is illegal in Bangladesh.

Sultan has been charged under the tough anti-porn law that could land him in prison for 10 years if he is found guilty.

The government last year blocked about 600 pornographic websites in a major drive.
