Modi sends birthday wishes to Hasina, lauds her leadership
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on her birthday.

He also lauded her leadership in a letter released by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
Wednesday is the birthday of the Bangladesh prime minister, who is also the ruling Awami League's president.
Born on this day in 1947 at Tungipara of Gopalganj, she is the eldest of the five children of Bangladesh's founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to you," Modi wrote.
"Your resolute leadership has provided the people of Bangladesh a beacon of hope during a difficult period.
"From development to security, Bangladesh has made rapid strides in its progress towards peace and prosperity for all citizens, under your leadership."
Modi also said he looked forward to welcoming Hasina next month at Goa BRICS summit, and "taking forward our shared agenda of regional cooperation."
