Dhaka, Feb 12 (bdnews24.com) — Nearly 36 hours after journalist couple Meherun Nahar Runi and Sagar Sarowar were murdered, Runi's family has filed a case against unidentified accused.
Runi's younger brother Nowsher Alam Roman lodged the case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station at 5pm on Sunday, the station's officer-in-charge (OC) Zakir Hossain Mollah told bdnews24.com.
He said, "No name was mentioned in the case details. No specific number of accused was mentioned, either."
ATN Bangla senior reporter Runi and her husband Golam Mustofa Sarowar, alias Sagar Sarowar, who was news editor with Maasranga Television, were murdered sometime in the early hours at their rented flat in west Rajabazar in the capital.
The couple's only 5-year-old child Mahin Sarowar Megh found his parents dead in their bedroom at 7am on Saturday.
Home minister Shahara Khatun had ordered police and other law-enforcing agencies to arrest those responsible within 48 hours while visiting the crime scene. But police said they could make no breakthrough in the case and no arrest, either.
