A commissioner suggests their appointments may have lapsed automatically after the law underpinning them was scrapped
He says 16 ordinances will undergo further scrutiny before final decisions
Opposing the bill, Hasnat Abdullah said: "Those who are on the government bench today would have opposed the passage of this bill before July 2024."
The committee has been formed in line with the National Human Rights Commission Ordinance, 2025
The Advisory Council also approves drafts of three other ordinances
