Although a banner reading “International Fascism and Genocide Research Institute” hangs at the gate of the central office of the banned Awami League, mobile shops belonging to Gulistan hawkers are being stored in the basement inside. Some vendors also keep their goods there, paying a nightly rent. Shopkeepers say they pay Tk 60 each night to keep their temporary wheeled stalls.
