Boxing has always been dominated by individual talents, from Muhammad Ali to Floyd Mayweather, leading to the current era where Oleksandr Usyk is conquering the ring.
The current undisputed and unified champion is set to face British boxer Daniel Dubois for the upcoming heavyweight boxing match at Wembley Stadium on Jul 19, where Usyk's WBC, WBA and WBO belts, as well the IBF title will be on the line.
The Ukrainian heavyweight boxer, Oleksandr Usyk, held multiple world titles in both the
cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, achieving the rare feat of becoming the undisputed and unified champion in both weight classes.
The 38-year-old boasts an impeccable professional record of 23 wins without a loss, with 14 of those victories coming by way of knockout.
Daniel Dubois, on the other hand, is a 27-year-old British boxer with a record of 22 wins and 2 losses, 21 of those wins by knockout.
The British boxer is recognised for his formidable punching power and has quickly risen through the ranks to challenge for the top titles, defeating some of the division’s toughest competitors despite his relative youth.
The two heavyweight boxers first met in August 2023 in Wroclaw, Poland, where Usyk emerged victorious by stopping Dubois in the ninth round.
The fight sparked debate due to a fifth-round punch by Dubois, ruled a low blow by the referee, which many believed landed legally on the beltline and could have changed the fight’s outcome.
Since their first encounter, both fighters have been active and successful.
Usyk has defended his titles, including notable wins over Tyson Fury, cementing his status as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters globally, while Dubois has secured three consecutive knockout victories, including a stunning fifth-round knockout of former champion Anthony Joshua ten months ago at Wembley Stadium.
