Dhaka, Oct 1 (bdnews24.com)- Seeking mercy from 'man-made' court would amount to challenging the authority of the Almighty Allah, JMB kingpin Shaekh Abdur Rahman and his deputy Bangla Bhai said in their handwritten statements that ended up in the Supreme Court.
"But if I get the opportunity to speak freely in the court, I will expose the conspirators," Bangla Bhai wrote.
Shaekh Rahman said only armed struggle could establish Islamic rule in the country.
The Supreme Court will sit on October 15 to decide if the handwritten letters of Shaekh Rahman and Bangla Bhai are good enough to be treated as appeal applications.
In their statements, they quoted verses from the holy Quran and said the verses allowed them to be engaged in Jihad.
The militants had on several occasions demanded they be allowed to meet the press. But they weren't.
The JMB due strongly defended their activities in their statements and said that they would never appeal against the verdict of the 'man-made' court.
"If the government sets up a Shariah court, we will seek justice. I don't want to miss this great opportunity to become a martyr ... seeking justice from man-made court would mean losing faith (in Allah)," said Bangla Bhai.
"There is no alternative to armed struggle to establish Islam," Rahman said.
Referring to the early days of Islam, they said that Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (sm) launched 105 wars in 10 years. The Prophet (sm), they said, himself took part in 27 of them.
