Cyclone destroys fishing village

The residents of a neighbourhood of more than 100 families of fishermen near Akmal Ali Ghat pier along the coast in Chattogram continued sifting through the debris of their homes and trawlers on Thursday, Oct 27, 2022 - three days after they were destroyed by Cyclone Sitrang. A 22-day fishing ban to let fish breed is ending on Friday midnight, but the fishermen see a bleaker future after losing their nets during the storm.
