Toxic fumes from burning plastic engulf Dhaka

Polythene, a ubiquitous plastic material, is burned daily in the low-lying areas of Dhaka’s Kamrangirchar. The burning polythenes emit toxic fumes that engulf Dhaka and its surrounding regions, worsening the air pollution during winter. According to international air quality technology organisation IQAir, Dhaka tops the list of the world’s most polluted cities.
