In October last year disabled cricketers, coaches, officials, physiotherapists and other interested persons learned about cricket for people with disabilities at a seminar. It was the first such event ever organized by the International Committe of the Red Cross (ICRC) in cooperation with the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the British High Commission, and the England and Wales Cricket Board. Following the first ever seminar on cricket for people with disabilities - facilitated by Mr. Ian Martin, renowned England & Wales Cricket Coach, specialized in Disabled Cricket - a two-day long training workshop for the disabled players and coaches held in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur. For all participating players - it was their maiden experience playing in the academy field of the national cricket stadium in Bangladesh.
