Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent test takers under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka will be allowed to enter exam centres earlier than usual to reduce delays and ease crowd-related disruption.
The board has directed all centre officers to implement this change immediately.
“On the first day, we noticed large gatherings of students and guardians outside centres, causing traffic jams and difficulties,” said SM Kamal Uddin Haider, the exam controller of Dhaka board, speaking to bdnews24.com on Saturday.
“To avoid such trouble, officials have been told to allow entry from 8:30am.”
Earlier, students were allowed to enter from 9am, with 9:30am as the final cut-off -- 30 minutes before the 10am exam start.
That final entry deadline remains in place.
According to Kamal, students entering after 9:30am must have their name, roll number, time of entry, and reason for the delay recorded.
He added that this information is submitted daily to centre heads and the board.
The HSC and equivalent exams began on Thursday under nine general education boards, as well as madrasa and technical boards.
A total of 1,251,111 students are participating this year.
