Nearly 1.85 million students across Bangladesh are set to sit for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations starting Tuesday.
The theoretical exams will start with the first paper of Bangla and continue until May 20, followed by practical examinations from Jun 7 to Jun 14.
For Dakhil examinees under the Madrasah Education Board, the exams will begin with Quran Majeed and Tajweed, with theoretical tests running until May 24.
Their practical exams will also take place from Jun 7 to Jun 14.
Students under the vocational stream will sit for Bangla-2 on the opening day, with theoretical exams concluding on May 14.
Practical examinations will be held from May 17 to May 21, while “real-life training” will run from Jun 1 to Jun 18.
All exams will begin at 10am, but candidates must enter examination halls at least 30 minutes earlier.
Under the nine general education boards, 1.41 million students will sit for the SSC exams.
The madrasa board will see 304,286 Dakhil candidates, while 134,660 students will participate under the Technical Education Board.
Inter-Education Board Examination Control Committee Chairman SM Kamal Uddin Haider told bdnews24.com that all preparations had been completed to ensure a “cheating-free examination environment”.
For the first time, CCTV cameras will be installed in every examination room during SSC and equivalent tests.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has also issued an 11-point directive for exam centres and institutional heads to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.
