Bangladesh clinch ACC women's cricket title

Bangladesh emerged champions in the ACC Women's Cricket tournament with a massive eight-wicket win over Nepal in the rain-marred final at Johor Cricket Academy, Malaysia Wednesday. After being put in to bowl first, Bangladesh restricted Nepal to 26 for seven in the curtailed 18 overs due to rain. The final match was billed for 30-over-a-side affair. Champa Chakma, Salma Khatun and Shamima Akhter Pinky grabbed two wickets each while Thithi Rani Sarkar took one wicket.

Dhaka, July 18 (bdnews24.com) - Bangladesh emerged champions in the ACC Women's Cricket tournament with a massive eight-wicket win over Nepal in the rain-marred final at Johor Cricket Academy, Malaysia Wednesday.
After being put in to bowl first, Bangladesh restricted Nepal to 26 for seven in the curtailed 18 overs due to rain. The final match was billed for 30-over-a-side affair.
Champa Chakma, Salma Khatun and Shamima Akhter Pinky grabbed two wickets each while Thithi Rani Sarkar took one wicket.
In reply, Bangladesh reached home scoring 27 in 9.4 overs losing two wickets with Chamely Khatun topscoring 17 not out. Panna Ghosh and skipper Tazkia Akhter scored four and two.
Panna was named player of the tournament.
The victors are scheduled to return home Thursday.
