Bangladesh have been bowled out for a measly 102 after a dramatic batting collapse against New Zealand in Mirpur.
The visitors produced a disciplined bowling performance to seize early control of the rain-interrupted contest at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts never built sustained partnerships and repeatedly lost wickets while attempting high-risk shots, with New Zealand’s bowlers maintaining tight lines and forcing errors under pressure.
Towhid Hridoy offered the only meaningful resistance with a fluent 33 off 24 balls, including two sixes, but received little support as the wickets tumbled around him.
New Zealand struck regularly through Nathan Smith, Jayden Lennox, Ish Sodhi, Josh Clarkson and Ben Sears, each contributing to a sustained collapse that saw Bangladesh lose wickets in clusters.
Smith triggered early damage by removing Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon, while Clarkson and Sodhi continued the momentum through the middle overs.
The final phase saw Bangladesh lose their tail cheaply, including a double strike from Sears.
Rain interruptions earlier in the day had reduced the match to a 15-over contest, with conditions remaining damp in Mirpur.
