The Sompritir Shikkharthi Jote, backed by Islami Chhatra Shibir, has blamed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal for bringing outsiders onto campus during the CUCSU polls, urging a fair count and transparent release of results.

At a press conference outside the CUCSU building on Wednesday evening, the panel’s vice-president candidate Ibrahim Hossain Rony laid out several allegations concerning the voting process.

He claimed outsiders were seen accompanying the Chhatra Dal’s general-secretary candidate for Alaol Hall, Nurunnabi, though the rule was admission only via ID cards.

He said the administration had “failed” to prevent these intrusions.

Rony alleged that hundreds of Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal activists, led by Shariful Islam Tuhin and Sarwar Hossain Rubel, had gathered near Rashid Hall at Gate No. 1 adjacent to the Rail Gate.

Despite widespread reports, he said the administration did not take effective action. He added that the ink used for voting, supposed to be indelible, faded after the vote was cast.

In Room 214 of the IT building, he claimed 10–15 ballot papers were inserted into ballot boxes without the presiding officer’s signature.

The presiding officer had attributed it to oversight, Rony said, calling for accountability.

He said LED screens at Shahid Hridoy Chandra Tarua Bhaban, M Rahman Hall, and Alaol Hall remained off for the first two hours, while the science faculty LED screen was mostly nonfunctional.

Rony claimed repeated requests for remedy went unheeded.

He alleged that Chhatra Dal activists created a “disturbance” in the BBA faculty after voting, disrupting the calm atmosphere.

He noted that complaints were lodged verbally and in writing with the Election Commission.
