Dhaka, March 9 (bdnews24.com) -- Princess Al Bandari bint Abdul Aziz, wife of Saudi prince Bandar Bin Mohammad Bin AbdulRahman Al-Saud, has died at the age of 80.
Princess Al Bandari, daughter of the late King and founder of Saudi Arabia King Abdul Aziz Bin AbdulRahman Al-Saud, died Friday at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, the Saudi Royal Court said in a statement without naming the disease.
Prince Bandar is in talks to buy Rupali Bank in Bangladesh.
The princess was sister of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and crown prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
In a statement released in Dhaka, Sir Frank Peters, senior adviser to Prince Bandar, said: "The sorrow felt in our hearts for His Royal Highness Prince Bandar and his family by all members of the Rupali Bank negotiation team just now is beyond description."
"The news of Princess Al Bandari's death has come as a major shock to us, but to His Royal Highness Prince Bandar, an octogenarian who loved his wife deeply, it must be heart-breaking. His grief is immeasurable and its pain only known to those of such experience," he said.
Frank Peters said he had sent "heartfelt condolences" on behalf of the Rupali Bank negotiation team and himself to Prince Bandar in hope time "will soon heal his sorrow".
Dr Moosa Bin Shamsher, his business partner and royal family friend, left Dhaka on the first available flight to Riyadh to "be at his side and offer support and comfort", the statement said.
