Jessore, May 25 (BDNEWS) – The verdict of Udichi bomb blast case will be pronounced on May 30.
The last argument in the case was held at the Jessore Special Judge's court on Thursday.
Ten people were killed and over hundred injured as two powerful bombs went off during the 12th national conference of Udichi Shilpi Gosthi in Jessore March 6 night, 1999.
After the incident, Kotwali thana SI Abdul Aziz filed cases in this connection.
Then ASP of CID Jessore Zone and investigation officer of the case Dulal Uddin Akand submitted charge sheet before the court accusing 24 people including Environment and Forest minister Tariqul Islam.
Later, Tariqul Islam was acquitted by the High Court.
Of 63 witnesses, 30 gave depositions before the court while among the accused, seven gave confessional statements before the magistrate court under section-164.
All the 22 accused except Mizanur Rahman Mizan, who is on the run, were present at the court Thursday.
