Police have filed a case against up to 10 unidentified people over the attack on BNP chief Khaleda Zia's Adviser Reaz Rahman.

Police lodged it on Wednesday when Rahman's family refused to take legal measures, DMP’s Gulshan zone Assistant Commissioner Nurul Alam told bdnews24.com.
Unknown miscreants shot Rahman on Tuesday night right before setting his car on fire near the Gulshan-2 intersection.
The former state minister for foreign affairs, hit by four bullets in the waist and leg, is currently undergoing treatment at the United Hospital in the capital.
Police claimed no one from the BNP leader's family contacted them about filing a case. Doctors at the hospital also did not allow police officials to speak to Rahman.
A police official, asking not be named, told bdnews24.com that despite their requests, Rahman's family did not hand over the car's driver, who witnessed the attack, in police custody, or tell them about his whereabouts.
"Police finally in the evening lodged the case accusing eight to 10 unidentified criminals," said Gulshan Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam.
Meanwhile, RAB Additional Director General Ziaul Ahsan told bdnews24.com that they, too, were investigating the attack on the BNP chairperson's adviser.
A CID team on Wednesday inspected the Road-46 at Gulshan where the incident took place and collected some materials from the scene. Later, they also checked the burnt car kept at Agargaon vehicle dumping ground.
The police official told bdnews24.com thatt a shell of a 7.65 mm pistol's bullet and part of a bullet were recovered from the scene right after the attack.
The law enforcers on Tuesday night also seized a video footage storage unit of a CCTV camera of a building right beside the scene of the attack.
After seeing the footage, the official who spoke to bdnews24.com on condition of anonymity said four motorcycles left the scene, Road-46, right after Rahman was attacked.
Three people including a child were seen riding the first motorcycle. The next two had three riders each while the last motorcycle had two riders.
Excluding the first one, police are now trying to identify and nab the riders of the last three motorcycles.
Rahman at the hospital Tuesday night had told police that he saw three of the attackers.
His son-in-law Arselan Quddus around same time told bdnews24.com that the driver, whose name has not been disclosed by the Rahman family yet, had called him first after his father-in-law was attacked. He had told the driver to come home.
Rahman's car had come under attack at Gulshan amid the nonstop nationwide transport blockade BNP chief Khaleda called on Jan 5.
The BNP and ruling Awami League have already traded blame for the attack on Rahman, a career diplomat-turned-politician.
However, State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal declined to make any comments on the identities of the assailants before the probe finished, but added that the perpetrators would not be spared.
