The Opposition and the ruling coalitions are nowhere near an agreement over the nature of the polls-time dispensation.
The Awami League-led coalition is going ahead with plans to form an all-party election-time government as per the Prime Minister's proposal. The BNP-led 18-Party alliance, on the other hand, has been demanding a non-party government to supervise the polls.
Earlier, government officials had said the process to form the all-party government would begin after the Prime Minister returned from Sri Lanka. Hasina returned on Friday night.
The ministers of the Grand Alliance government had submitted their resignations to Hasina on Nov 11, kicking off the preparations for the formation of the all-party election-time dispensation.
According to the Constitution, the Election Commission will have to hold the 10th national election by Jan 24, 2014 under the incumbent government.

On Saturday, the BNP said they were ready to have talks over the poll-time government.
