Panchagarh, April 3 (BDNEWS) – The three-day-long survey in Panchagarh district to demarcate the borders between India and Bangladesh was completed Sunday with both the sides agreeing to solve the unresolved border disputes.
Four representatives from each country took part in the survey that started on April 1.
Representatives of the two countries completed the survey on the areas adjacent to Mohananda river in Tentulia upazila and Karotoa river in Sadar upazila under Panchagarh.
Both the sides agreed to solve the problems on demarcating the borders of occupied lands, installation of pillars on the borders and repair of the broken pillars.
Director general of Land Record and Survey Md Abu Haider Sardar led the four-member Bangladesh team while director of Survey of India GC Bairagi led the four-member Indian side.
The other members of the Bangladesh team are joint secretary of Land Ministry of Bangladesh Aftab Hossain, assistant director of Land Record and Survey Abdul Kader and charge officer Md Lutfur Rahman. The members of the Indian side are deputy director of Survey of India D Roy Chowdhury, assistant director of Survey of India PK Bhattacharya and charge officer BK Biswas.
