The party’s acting chief Mokbul Ahmad meted out the threat in a statement issued after the Appellate Division threw out two petitions to review Molla's death penalty.
Molla, a war crimes convict, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the International Crimes Tribunal of Feb 5 but the Appellate Division revised it to death penalty on Sept 17.
The tribunal issued a death warrant after the full verdict against the Jamaat leader was released two and a half months later.
The verdict was to be executed at 12:01am on Wednesday but was stopped at the last minute on the order of a chamber judge, who was approached by the defence.
The Appellate Division scrapped the petitions after conducting hearings on Wednesday and Thursday removing all hurdles to Molla’s execution.
“The Awami League and its government should know that they have to pay for each drop of Abdul Quader Molla’s blood. Awami League will stand accused in the near future for the sham judgements. This government will have to stand trial before the people for conducting illegal and unconstitutional trials leading to death penalties,” the Jamaat statement said.
“Our clear statement is that the government is trying to implement its plan to kill Abdul Quader Molla under cover of a farcical judgment. The law under which he was judged, the tribunal have all been highly questioned at home and abroad.”
The statement claimed that UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillai, two UN experts, US, UK, Human Rights Watch, Asian Human Rights Commission, British Senior Foreign Minister, Turkey, Australia, British Parliament members and many others demanded Molla’s execution to be stopped.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement Jamaat protested a newspaper report about arson on Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha’s village home.
Jamaat’s central executive committee member Hamidur Rahman Azad claimed: “Jamaat-Shibir has no involvement with the arson on Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha's home.”
