Dhaka, July 27 (bdnews24.com) — Charges have been framed against 310 more accused in the case filed over murder and arson-like crimes committed during the border guards' mutiny at their Peelkhana headquarters in 2009.
The judge at the makeshift district judge's court set up at the playground adjacent to Dhaka Alia Madrasa and Dhaka Central Jail in the city's Bakshi Bazar area framed the charges on Wednesday.
With the latest figure, the number of those charged in the case has reached 740. Charges were framed against 430 on July 20.
The court fixed Aug 10 for charge framing against remaining 110 of the total 850 accused.
Seventy-four people, including 57 army officials deputed to the paramilitary force, were killed at Peelkhana, the headquarters of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), now renamed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in the Feb 25-26 mutiny in 2009.
