Dhaka University students have staged a midnight protest, demanding the resignation of Home Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury over his failure to curb rising crime across Bangladesh.
The march began around 1am on Monday from the residential halls area of the university.
Protesters moved through different halls before gathering at the base of the Raju Memorial Sculpture.
During the demonstration, students chanted slogans such as "one, two, three, four—Jahangir, step down now," "one demand, one solution—Jahangir must resign," and "ensure safety for our mothers and sisters, or leave your post."
The Protesting students said they were demonstrating against the home advisor’s inability to curb rising crime and ensure public safety.
