Law Advisor Asif Nazrul has said the reforms and activities of the past 18 months are the result of teamwork within the law ministry, rather than personal achievement.
Responding to criticism in a Facebook post on Sunday night, he wrote: "I did nothing. The law ministry did it. I was a partner in every single task."
Addressing critics, he added: "I know that some will still enjoy criticising. Do it, no problem.
“But my humble request is that before you do, please find out exactly what work has been carried out."
He claimed: "I arrived at the office early in the morning and stayed until 8 or 9pm when necessary.
“After a brief rest, I worked again at home late into the night. I have worked at the Secretariat on many Fridays and Saturdays."
In his post, Asif said in order to "realise the aspirations" of the July mass uprising, the law ministry has facilitated 22 legal and 15 institutional reforms and digitalisation initiatives, the withdrawal of 24,276 harassment cases, and assistance in the management of genocide trials.
Among the legal reforms, he mentioned the amendment of the International Crimes (Tribunals) Ordinance, the Supreme Court Judges Recruitment Ordinance, the Supreme Court Secretariat Ordinance, the Commercial Court Ordinance, among others.
He said the International Crimes Act has been brought into line with international standards and that enforced disappearance has been included as a crime against humanity.
