The scope of the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government’s advisory council is set to expand with the addition of five new members, according to a statement from the Bangabhaban.
The five new advisors will be sworn in at Bangabhaban at 4pm on Friday, the president’s office said.
Chief Advisor Yunus currently has a team of 16 advisors.
The Cabinet Division hinted at the appointment of five more new members on Thursday.
The Ministry of Public Administration’s transport pool said it has been told to prepare five cars for Friday's oath-taking ceremony.
The interim government took the reins on Aug 8. Along with the chief advisor, President Mohammed Shahabuddin appointed 16 advisors and administered the oath of office to 13 advisors, including Yunus, on that day.
The following day, the interim government distributed duties among 13 advisors. Two more advisors, Supradeep Chakma and Bidhan Ranjan Roy, took oath as advisors on Aug 11.
Bir Protik Faruk E Azam was sworn in as an advisor for the last time on Aug 13 after his return from the United States. He was made advisor to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
As many as 24 ministries or divisions are currently under Chief Advisor Yunus.
