Hamiduzzaman Khan, the illustrious sculptor and artist, is undergoing treatment in intensive care at Dhaka's United Hospital. His wife says he has been battling dengue and pneumonia.
The artist has been in hospital care for three days, his wife Ivy Zaman said.
“The doctors have informed us that his heart and kidneys are in good condition. We are hopeful that once the pneumonia is under control, he will be moved from the ICU to a regular bed,” she said.
“The doctors have advised against crowding the hospital, so we are waiting outside the ICU.”
She also mentioned that a medical board, formed on Thursday, has been monitoring his condition.
