A Rajshahi court has sent BNP Joint Secretary General Mizanur Rahman Minu to jail in a case accusing him of trying to kill policemen.

Metropolitan Magistrate Biswanath Mondol issued the order on Tuesday, rejecting Minu’s bail plea.
The BNP leader was sent to the Rajshahi Central Jail, his lawyer Mozammel Haque said.
Earlier, Minu submitted his bail appeal after surrendering to the court.
On June 4, 2011, BNP activists had attacked policemen from a procession in Bhuban Mohan Park, Rajshahi city, said Boalia Model Police Station OC Ziaur Rahman.
Former Boalia Model Police Station OC Khan Mohammad Shahriar was hit by bullet in the attack, he said.
Three other policemen were also injured.
SI Jahangir Alam filed a case in connection with the incident at the Boalia Police Station, accusing 350 people.
Police on Feb 4 this year filed a charge-sheet against 133 people, including Minu.
