Many of the protestors were nuns and priests who walked in silence at the candle-light protest rally organised by the Catholic Church of Tripura at capital Agartala.
The protest rally started from the Vivekananda Stadium and ended at the Gandhi statue in Circuit House area.
The protesters demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and also the accused in the attacks on churches in various parts of the country, including capital New Delhi.
A suspected gang of robbers barged into the premises of the high school in Nadia district of West Bengal and sexually assaulted the elderly nun when she tried to stop them from looting the school.
Six attackers were caught on CCTV while burgling the convent before the old nun was raped.
