Kite sales boom around Shakrain Festival
Dhaka residents celebrate the traditional kite festival named Shakrain Festival at the end of the month of Poush. Every year, locals prepare for the festival by buying vibrant-coloured kites and accessories. On Tuesday, kites, yarn, and bobbins were seen selling in Shankhari Bazaar. Shakrain, which usually begins on Poush Sankranti or the end of the Bengali month of Poush, continues the next day as well.
