Savar’s Bhakurta hums with Eid jewellery rush
Though Dhaka’s Tanti Bazar and Shankhari Bazar are famous for ornaments, Savar’s Bhakurta village has been producing different designs for years. Most residents rely on jewellery making, a craft they have practised for 150 to 200 years. While work slows at certain times, it picks up around Eid.
