Once considered primarily a Dhaka-centric disease, dengue has now spread across the country. Most of the patients admitted to Mugda General Hospital in the capital are arriving from outside Dhaka.
The mosquito menace is no longer seasonal but year-round. Dengue, once a Dhaka-centric disease, has now spread to 58 districts. Most hospitalised patients in the capital are from outside the city.
Nowadays, dengue patients are admitted to hospitals in Dhaka year-round. Sometimes their number goes up, and sometimes it goes down.
