Protesters say they will paste the three-point demands by BSc engineering students to scarecrows and torch them on polytechnic campuses nationwide
"We hope that the Appellate Division will overturn the verdict delivered by the High Court. We are waiting for it," a protest leader says
The movement will opt for tougher programmes if their demands are unmet, a protester warns
The reversal comes following scepticism over the government’s decision to form a committee to outline a roadmap for implementing their demands
“If no visible action is noted, then we will pursue stricter programmes, even hold a long march if necessary,” a protest leader says
The students are threatening to conduct blockades of roads and railways to push for their six-point list of demands, but have not announced the timing
A student representative says the demonstration will begin at 7:30pm
