The International Crimes Tribunal has sentenced ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina to death for committing crimes against humanity in her attempt to suppress the July Uprising. Security was beefed up in the courtroom on Monday for the verdict.
Fourteen of those accused in the July-August ‘genocide’ case appeared before the International Crimes Tribunal on Monday, Nov 18, 2024. The defendants include ten former ministers and state ministers of the ousted Awami League government, two advisors to the party, a retired judge and a former secretary.
